About Us

Our History and Mission

The Ann Arbor Bonsai Society was founded in 1970.

The purpose of The Ann Arbor Bonsai Society shall be to promote knowledge, appreciation, and practice of the art of bonsai to its members and to the general public through meetings, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, publications or other means.

The Society holds regular meetings, workshops, an annual show and several informal gatherings for members and their guests. Meetings are held monthly, February through October, on the fourth Wednesday of the month. We hold our meetings in the auditorium at Matthaei Botanical Gardens on Dixboro Road in Ann Arbor. Members gather in the auditorium at 6:30 PM to catch-up with long time friends, the meeting starts at 7 PM with the evening program to follow.
